In almost every conversation I have with a new customer they ask if I offer cake delivery. While some of my customers like to collect their cakes, I know that for lots of people the idea of taking responsibility for the safe transport of their cake is a really scary prospect and for this reason I am happy to offer cake delivery in London and further afield.
Why it might be a good idea to have your cake delivered
There are two main reasons why it might make sense for you to opt for cake delivery rather than collection. The first is convenience. When you order a cake, it is usually as part of a larger celebration or party. Whether it’s a small 5th birthday at home, or a huge 50th anniversary with 100 guests, anyone who has organised a party knows there is already enough to do without also taking time out to collect the cake! Opting for cake delivery means that you can get on with all the other jobs you need to while knowing that your cake will arrive safe and sound.
Which leads me onto the second reason you might choose to have your cake delivered - peace of mind! I know how scary the prospect of driving a cake across London can feel, because when I started my business I was terrified about delivering cakes. In fact, I actively avoided it. But I realised very quickly how important it was for my customers, and now I consider myself an expert. Every cake I have delivered has arrived in perfect condition. Opting for cake delivery means you can relax safe in the knowledge that your cake is going to arrive safely at its destination.
How does cake delivery work?
If you think you will need cake delivery, it’s always a good idea to let me know when you enquire so that I can make sure I have availability. I often make several cakes for a single day, and am only able to over delivery on a first come, first served basis. While I can sometimes accommodate delivery on last minute orders, you are always better off ordering in advance.
When you enquire, please let me know both where and when you will need your cake delivered. I offer cake delivery in London and but also further afield. I usually deliver on my own, so it is always helpful to have somewhere to park near the venue. I can deliver your cake to your home or directly to a party venue if that’s easier for you and the timings work. I often drop cakes off at venues in the morning ahead of afternoon/evening parties. In these instances I will liaise with the venue to make sure they are happy with the cake delivery taking place earlier in the day. I always leave storage instructions.
For cakes of 3 or more tiers I only offer delivery. This is because I do not travel with cakes of this size fully stacked. Instead I will set up the cake at its final destination. When this is the case, I will discuss with you the best time to arrive so that I’m able to set the cake up in the same place that it will be displayed to avoid you needing to move it. This was the case for the cake below:
How much does it cost to have my cake delivered?
How much cake delivery costs will depend on the distance I need to travel and whether I need to add on time to set up the cake at the venue (for cakes of 3 or more tiers).
I am based in Brentford in West London, and offer cake delivery locally, across London and across surrounding counties. I will calculate the delivery cost when I provide you with a quote, but as a starting guide -
Cake delivery in Brentford - free
Cake delivery in Ealing - £10
Cake delivery in Chiswick - £10
Cake delivery in Richmond - £10
Cake delivery in Kew Gardens - £10
Cake delivery in Wimbledon - £20
Cake delivery in Fulham - £20
I hope this has helped to set your mind at ease. My customers and I spend a lot of time designing their perfect cakes, and it is so important that the creations we design together arrive at their final destinations in perfect condition. While collection is an option, cake delivery is often preferred, and I’m really happy to be able to offer you this service.
