LOVELY TO meet YOU
While I have always loved baking and decorating cakes, it has not always been my profession. After graduating with a history degree, I worked as a secondary school history teacher for nearly 8 years. While I loved my job, after having my first baby I decided to finally take the plunge and turn my love for cakes into my career and Charlotte's Cake Company was born in September 2020. Setting up a baking business in the middle of a global pandemic, when no one was allowed to have parties or weddings, might not have been the most sensible decision anyone has ever made... But I am thrilled to say it worked out in the end and for the last two years I have absolutely loved every minute of my job.

Hello! I'm Charlotte and I'm so pleased your search for a cake maker has led you to me!

I am a lifelong Londoner and have lived in West London for most of the last 20 years. After moving from Chiswick to Kew to Acton, I now work from my home in Brentford where I live with my husband and two cheeky little boys.

But I am thrilled to say it has been the most wonderful and fulfilling couple of years.

As the business has evolved, I have developed a passion for beautifully crafted, bespoke wedding cakes. I particularly love the art of handmade sugar flowers. The cutting of the wedding cake is a symbolic action. It signifies the first task that a newly married couple undertakes together and is therefore a very important part of the day. I feel so privileged to spend my days devoted to working with people at a time in their lives where love is at the forefront. Hearing your stories and being given the honour of representing them in sugar is the most magical way I can imagine to spend a working life!
When I'm not baking you will find me enjoying a glass of wine or two with friends and family at one of our wonderful local pubs, or curled up in front of the telly watching reruns of Jonathan Creek. I love pasta, flying saucers (the sherbert sweet kind, not the UFO kind!) and marmite toast. I love crime novels and Christmas and thunder storms and I love getting to know my wonderful couples.
Please get in touch, I can't wait to hear from you!
